Sa'Khan Quadrant (Hukutav'ragnith Sa'Khan) is a region of space that is largely controlled by the Kilrathi. More specifically, it is mainly controlled by the Kilrathi Assembly of Clans and the new Kilrathi Capital of Pasqual X is located in this Quadrant. Sa'Khan Quadrant was one of the major battlefields of the war and was heavily militarized along the Terran frontier, featuring such important bases as Marcinko Station and the Valgard Military Prison complex. Even in the years since the war, things have not been wholly settled in the region, with the area seeing a great deal of activity during the events of the Black Lance Affair and two of its systems disputed by regional Kilrathi warlords in neighboring M'Shrak Sector (one of which is still in dispute). This Quadrant also plays host to the home of the Demon's Eye Pack, the newest of Epsilon's notorious Kilrathi pirate clans.

Border Zone System

Border Zone is a codename for Qual'n'Rahn, a Kilrathi-controlled star system located in the Sa'Khan Quadrant that features an agricultural world with the same Kilrathi name. The codename originated during Operation Thor's Hammer, when Confederation fleet planners originally believed that this was the first Kilrathi star system infiltrated by TCS Tiger's Claw and the Reavers; it was later proven via Kilrathi records after the war that the star system visited was in fact K'ta Mek in Antares Quadrant (which has almost a completely identical stellar configuration to Qual'n'Rahn, hence the confusion). The system was first discovered by Kilrathi surveyors conducting a sweep of the adjacent Qual'lat system in 2633, shortly before the onset of the Terran-Kilrathi War. During the survey, the Kilrathi discovered that the second planet of the K-type star was capable of supporting life; plans for colonization didn't materialize right away, however, due to the planet's notably severe global weather conditions. In 2657, K'har nar Tsahl, the son of Varni campaign hero Kt'lan "Ku'a'varni'i" nar Tsahl, approached the Emperor about growing arakh on the planet's surface, citing near-perfect soil conditions for growing the hearty plants. The Emperor granted permission, and the community of Skabak Kt'lan was established on the planet's surface in 2659. As predicted, the arakh flourished on the planet's surface despite the inevitable losses to the weather, and by the time the war ended Qual'n'Rahn was the main supplier of arakh in Epsilon. It changed hands several times in the first few chaotic post-war years, with the population of the planet dropping off to just over 30,000 persons (a loss of about 94% of its wartime population. Eventually the KAC added the world as part of its demesne and began policing the system, keeping it out of the hands of any additional would-be warlords. Today Skabak Kt'lan is still a major supplier of arakh to Kilrathi worlds in Epsilon and some attempts at ranching have begun. Its yearly Arakh Festival is a minor tourist draw, though it does bring in vital funding to the community on a yearly basis. In a rather unfortunate turn of events last year, a group of visiting nar Sutaghi attending the festival inadvertently brought a group of White Zombies to the planet's surface; the zombies have since become a plague, hunting the local population and turning their opinion firmly against the nar Sutaghi clan. The weather continues to present occasional problems to the community, though it has started receiving logistical support from the Bronte Corporation, who has made arrangements to be the exclusive distributor of arakh to Kilrathi worlds in Epsilon Sector. The system itself sees about 55 cargo ships on an average daily basis. The presence of the KAC police along with a strong local militia has virtually eliminated piracy in the system (that and the fact that arakh has very limited value outside the Kilrathi spheres of influence), though there are occasional incidents with the Demon's Eye Pack and the DeathHeads.

Cephid 17[]

Cephid 17

Cephid 17 System

Cephid 17 is a star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant. Its name in Kilrathi is T'rel Khar and it features an Agricultural World of the same name. This system was the first system explored by the Kilrathi during their initial conquest of Epsilon Sector, and in the years that followed it served as a major point of entry into the Sector for the Kilrathi. The surveyors found a habitable, though largely pelagic world tidally locked in orbit around the system's K-type primary. At that time it was decided by the Empire to make the world a hunting ground for rugalga, the animals were imported to the world in large quantities and given time to breed. After a little over fifteen years, a good sized herd had developed and the go-ahead was given for colonization; the community of Hath Rugalga was founded on the planet's surface in 2637. T'rel Khar became a major food provider for the Kilrathi in the region in the years that followed. At War's end, the world was at the center of a struggle between two warlords centered in the Gorth and Paghk systems and the forces of the provisional council. The Gorth warlords ultimately defeated the Paghk warlords in a final battle in the Tr'K H'hra (8) star system in 2671, leaving the system alone long enough for the council to consolidate their holdings at T'rel Khar; the conflict caused a great deal of destruction on T'rel Khar, with about half of the planetary rugalga herds incidentally killed. The warlords of Gorth still lay claim to the system and occasional battles with KAC Police forces still occur. In the meantime, the world continues to serve as a food supplier to the new Kilrathi government, though the planet has not really recovered from the conflict. As far as intra-Sector commerce is concerned, Hath Rugalga houses a shipping office operated by the Guinterin Combine and they are the only major corporation that operates in the system, with about sixty of their cargo ships passing through on an average daily basis. Confederation Naval patrols out of adjacent Valgard and KAC Police patrols out of Bifrost work in conjunction with the planetary militia to provide security. Despite this, piracy in the planet's spacelanes is somewhat moderate, with the Despoilers notably active. The Crimson Claw and Demon's Eye Pack both operate in this system and there have been conflicts between the two groups over whose "territory" it belongs to.

Lennox[]

Lennox

Lennox System

Lennox is a star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant, also known as Ko'bar Pakh in Kilrathi. It features the agricultural world of Campsie and Marcinko Station, a Confederation-buiilt and operated Halsey-type Naval Base (#8). Lennox was first surveyed by TCES scouts in 2619, who discovered the presence of a world capable of supporting life in near orbit around the larger of the two M-type stars in the heart of the system. Dut to the fact that the world was tidally locked and the gravity was generally above what most Terrans would consider comfortable, there was little interest in it at first. Bronte Corporation, seeing an opportunity to get a new world on the cheap, made an offer to the Ministry of Commerce for exclusive rights to settle the world. After a review, the Minister of Commerce agreed to the deal and Bronte Corporation founded a settlement in late 2622. The system became hotly contested in the early War years, with the Kilrathi taking control of the system three times before 2660 and invading the planet once, leveling the original settlement in the process. After the third invasion of the system and with Kilrathi forces using the system as a means of getting into the strategically vital system of Hell's Kitchen in Vega, the Confederation decided that the system should play host to one of the new Halsey-type defensive outposts being built throughout the Confederation. Construction of Marcinko Station, the second Halsey-type base in Epsilon, began in 2656 and came online in 2658. In the meantime, Bronte Corporation established the new settlements of New Lennoxtown and Muir on the surface. The presence of Marcinko Station improved the security of the system vastly, so much so that the Kilrathi started bypassing Lennox through Torgo (a set of events that ultimately led to the somewhat controversial decision to construct Decatur Station, another Halsey-class starbase, in 2663). Campsie was invaded two more times before the war ended though Marcinko held firm and was able to act as a staging area for successful counter-strikes. In the meantime, New Lennoxtown would ultimately be selected by Bronte Corporation as the site of one of their Corporate Training Colleges, and to boost the city's population an annual harvest festival began in 2665 that has since become a major tourist draw for the community. The system remained in Confederation hands when the war ended in 2669 and became a crucial staging zone for craft trying to keep the peace in the region in the immediate post-war years. Marcinko was the site of a significant Border Worlds raid during the Black Lance Affair in 2673; during the conflict, a platoon of Border Worlds Marines infiltrated the station and gathered intelligence for the Union, temporarily disabling the station's tracking system to cover their escape (this same platoon would subsequently join up with BWS Intrepid in the Orestes system). Base personnel were able to restore the systems quickly, though not before the conflict had been brought to a conclusion. Marcinko remains an important military installation to this day, running patrols through many systems in Sa'Khan and Deneb Quadrants to keep piracy down. Bronte Corporation still largely runs the Campsie colony, though the community of New Lennoxtown has recently seen a hostile takeover by Hurston Dynamics. With the disappearance of the Bronte truck system that had previously been in place there, many citizens living in the Corporate District of New Lennoxtown have suddenly found themselves impoverished, their company scrip no longer accepted in the new Hurston corporate state. The community of Muir is seeing steady growth with the new state of affairs, though it was stymied by an outbreak of Kilrathi pox in 2678 that lasted well into 2679, traced to a tramp freighter operated by members of clan Sutaghi; all member of clan Sutaghi have since found themselves unwelcome in the community. The system itself sees nearly 160 cargo ships pass through on an average daily basis, with the system's various communities playing host to all of the major corporations operating in Epsilon. Lennox has one of the stronger economies in Epsilon, with an average annual trade volume of just over 43 billion credits. Marcinko's patrols hold sole responsibility for in-system security. Piracy is somewhat moderate despite the strong military presence owing to the heavy commercial traffic, with the Despoilers being notably active in the area.

Masa[]

Masa

Masa System

Masa is a star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant. It is rarely referred to by its Kilrathi name, Ko'bar Tahn; even the Cats find the word "Masa" easier to pronounce. The system features Masa Spacelab, an orbital space laboratory, and the Border Worlds colonial world of Masa III. Confederation-based pioneers founded a community on the third planet of the system in 2620 a few months prior to the settlement of the Qual'lat system by the Kilrathi, making Masa the oldest established colony world in the Sa'Khan Quadrant. The system was heavily contested during the War years owing to its position directly on the Confederation-Kilrathi border and raids into the system were common, with it changing hands about a half-dozen times during the War years. At War's end, Masa was in the hands of the Confederation and in fairly desperate shape, with most of its infrastructure demolished during the war's final months. As part of a greater initiative to revive the economy of the Vega and Epsilon Sectors where the fighting had been the heaviest, the Confederation commissioned a number of new scientific and manufacturing facilities in and along the border; as part of this initiative, Hurston Dynamics was given permission to build a research laboratory in the system and colonists were sent to re-establish the main community on the planet's surface. During the Black Lance Affair of 2673, the Masa Spacelab was illegally seized by Confederation Forces. The Border Worlds retaliated for the attack by infiltrating Confed aerospace with two cruisers, which were promptly routed by forces off the carrier TCS Lexington. Lexington would later see a change of command within the system, and after the affair was over the lab was turned over to the jurisdiction of the Union of Border Worlds. Bronte Corporation was ultimately granted access to the lab's facilities as part of Hurston Dynamic's takeover deal of Campsie in the adjacent Lennox system. Meantime the change of administration has not done much to help Masa III's re-development; the system's current standing population is just over two thousand people. The people of Masa III are known for their charity and have been one of the few members of the Union of Border Worlds that have let bygones be bygones and allowed Kilrathi refugees to settle freely among them; this has inadvertently brought with it the nar Qarg / nar Raghitagha feud with it, though clashes between the two clans are not as frequent or severe as they are in other parts of the Sector. The low population of the system lends itself to a slow economy; the system sees only about forty cargo ships on an average daily basis, representing six of the Sector's major corporations. Piracy is higher than would ordinarily be expected for a system with such a low rate of commerce, with the Morgans and Jezebels particularly active in the system. The piracy is largely due to a somewhat moderate military presence and the wide variety of cargo types that pass through.

Its best known feature is the planet Pasqual X, the de facto new homeworld of the Kilrathi and host to Pasqual Station in orbit, both of which are known amongst the Kilrathi as T'Kon-Sa Du and T'kon-Saari respectively. Pasqual went by its Kilrathi name for much of its known history, first discovered by the Kilrathi during their initial conquest of the Epsilon Sector early in the 27th Century. Scouts reported that the tenth planet of the A-type giant was capable of supporting life and had reasonably large deposits of aluminum in its aesthenosphere, but due to the tidal forces the planet was subjected to it had a degree of seismic instability on the same order as Kilrath herself, with major volcanic eruptions and earthquakes commonplace. It nevertheless went on Kilrah's list of potential colony sites in the Sector and a settlement was established early on in the war. Pasqual became one of the most hotly contested systems in Epsilon during the war, changing hands no less than two dozen times; Confederation forces held on to the system for an extended period during the Epsilon Sector Campaign of 2644. The original settlement was destroyed by Confederation forces during the Epsilon Sector Campaign; the current settlement of Rahras Pukcal (originally known as Brajakh T'kon-Sa was established by the Kilrathi in 2660 and itself changed hands five times in the late war years. At the end of the War in 2669, the system was in Kilrathi hands and by provision of the Treaty of Torgo it was allowed to remain as a Kilrathi holding. As the Empire shattered into thousands of private feifdoms and descended into the chaos of civil war, Melek nar Kiranka saw the need for some kind of formal government with which to negotiate to the Confederation for the Kilrathi people. To that end, he formed a provisional council made up of the Kal Thrakhra of the Great Clans of Kilrah and the representative of any warlord that wished a say in the government. Melek selected Brajakh T'kon-Sa as the meeting site for the Council; today his motives for picking a world such as Pasqual X for the site of the new government aren't entire clear, though the proximity to Marcinko Station in Lennox probably had a great deal to do with it as well as the planet's similarities to fallen Kilrah. When the Kal Thrakhra agreed to make Brajakh T'kon-Sa the permanent meeting site of the council and as part of his own name change, Melek renamed the community to Rahras Pukcal - "personal home of atonement" - to reflect his personal beliefs on the destruction of Kilrah; that decision remains controversial to this day, with most of the planetary denizens still referring to the community by its original name. In 2675, Murragh Cakg dai Nokhtak, made an attempt to seize control over the council and claim his (rightful) place as the next Emperor of Kilrah. When the attack failed, the council called on the Confederation to build a new working government for the Kilrathi people, events that led to the formation of the Kilrathi Assembly of Clans. Today, Pasqual remains the seat of the KAC government, though for security's sake the seat of the council has moved from Rahras Pukcal to Pasqual Station. A local chapter of the Cult of Sivar has set up an ampitheater in the planetary community, though it does not see many visitors and due to the relocation of the Kilrathi government the community's economy is depressed; Melek still keeps a permanent residence there. Meanwhile the Kal Thrakhra have taken over the direct administration of the station, and KAC Thraqal Nrallos nar Juk’Teth has taken up residence there. The Council has negotiated several trade agreements with the major Terran corporations in Epsilon, and as a result the system now sees a fair amount of commercial traffic. Five of the major corporations have set up offices on Pasqual Station, with Bronte Corporation and Bartok Industries taking the extra step of opening up offices in Rahras Pukcal just this past year. About 50 Terran cargo ships pass through the system on an average daily basis and the system as a whole has a moderate economic throughput. The increase in commerce has brought with it interstellar piracy which the local KAC police forces are doing their level best to keep under control. The Jezebels and Despoilers are notably active Terran pirate clans in the system, and there are occasional incidents with the forces of the Demon's Eye Pack.

Qual'lat[]

Quallat

Qual'lat System

Qual'lat is a star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant. It features the Kilrathi Agricultural World of Qual'lat Tre and Qual'lat Kes, a Kilrathi Pleasure World. Despite being the closest of the Kilrathi-held Epsilon systems to Kilrah geophysically, it actually was the second system in the Sector to be discovered and surveyed by the Kilrathi after the Anchorage system in Tr'L Rass Quadrant (Qual'lat is six jumps from Kilrah while at the time Anchorage was three). Initial surveys of the system indicated the presence of a pair of tidally-locked but otherwise habitable worlds orbiting the system's M-type primary, the first inhabitable planets discovered in the region. The Emperor commanded the formation of a settlement on both worlds of the system with the intention of turning them into major colony worlds similar to Hhallas in the neighboring Tr'K H'hra Quadrant of M'Shrak Sector (with Hhallas only four jumps from Qual'lat) with the hope of establishing a major cross-Sector commercial trade route in the region. Both worlds of the Qual'lat system were settled in 2620, with the settlement on Qual'lat Tre established a mere sixteen days prior to the establishment of the settlement on Qual'lat Kes. Growth was rapid on both worlds, with the settlement on Qual'lat Tre turning out such a bumper crop of ak'rah leaves each year that the citizens of that world named their community after the plants; an ak'rah-based ale brewery was opened the year before the War with the Terrans began that would ultimately become famous throughout the Empire. Qual'lat Kes, meanwhile, decided to turn its energies towards tourism, in particular hunting; the planet had an abundance of creatures both difficult to catch and potentially dangerous, a perfect combination for those interested in blood-sport. By the time the war began, the settlement on Qual'lat Kes (which had by then been named Karax (Bloodlust) was renowned throughout the Empire as a destination for hunters on holiday. Qual'lat was far away from the frontlines of the war and remained firmly in Kilrathi possession for its duration. In the meantime, the two worlds of the Qual'lat system set up a symbiotic trade relationship between them; ar'akh was in high demand on Kes, and the farmers of Tre were happy to supply it. In return, Kes provided a convenient nearby destination for those on Tre that needed to get away for a while. This symbiotic relationship was hard pressed when the War ended in an unexpected defeat for the Empire, but neither the community leader of Ak'rah nor Karax had any military influence whatsoever, and both understood that the specialty services and products that supported their respective economies would only continue to thrive if the two of them would put aside any notions of building up a personal empire. So the two came to a mutually beneficial arrangement: Karax agreed to allow Ak'rah to continue on as they had been during the days of the Empire, while Ak'rah acknowledged Karax as the system's administrative capital. This arrangement met with unqualified success, and as a result the quality of life in the Qual'lat system remained high even while civil wars raged on across the former Empire. Unfortunately, this made it attractive to warlords in neighboring Tr'K H'Hra Quadrant and nearby Kur'u Caxki Quadrant, and over the course of the next few years, both Qual'lat and the neighboring Qual'n'Rahn system swapped hands several times, with the Kalhathsahr ("considered leader of the killing lords", the honorary title of the Brajakhar of Karax) required to swear "fealty" no less than half a dozen times to regional warlords; each time the warlord was ultimately killed off by a rival, until finally in 2673 the system was in the hands of the warlord Korg lan Gorth. After it became their possession, the Gorth decided to turn Qual'lat Kes into a full-fledged pleasure world, which in their mind meant the place needed a little more in terms of carnal behavior; the community of Brajakh'rax (literally "fortress of lust") was founded in late 2673 and by the end of the year had already gained a reputation as a place of utter debauchery in the region, with its Kh'karav ("red light") district gaining notoriety even in some Terran circles. The Kalhathsahr of Karax was none to pleased at the loss of revenues for his community (as Ak'rah was now having to supply both towns) and started feeding what intelligence he could gather on Gorth movements to the nearest most stable government, the newly formed Kha'nari'Kilrathi in Pasqual. The intel proved vital to the fledling new Kilrathi government, and in 2676 the Gorth were driven back into M'Shrak Sector. The system has remained a holding of the KAC since that time, though the KAC still has to devote some of its forces to holding off those of the Gorth warlord (Qual'lat is the only system in their demesne that is in a state of active dispute as of 2680) and the Kalhathsahr is quite aware of what will happen to him should the Gorth warlord ever successfully re-conquer the system. In the meantime, things in the system are operating much as they have been since the days of the Empire. Ak'rah still enjoys a strong economy and its brewery is still manufacturing strong spirits; the brewery has recently opened itself up to tourists and is gathering a strong interest amongst Terran-based brewers, notably those associated with Rondell Corporation. Karax likewise remains prosperous, though the constant bloodsport has attracted vermin from among the Empire and the community is dealing with an outbreak of phthisis at the present time as a result. The KAC did not close down Brajakh'rax contrary to the wishes of the Kalhathsahr, though it has taken measures to tone down the debauchery a bit and Bronte Corporation has opened up an office there (probably as a means of setting up some competition for food distribution with Rondell; it remains to be seen what this setup will do to the system's stability. Qual'lat system today sees just short of an even hundred cargo ships pass through on an average day, usually comprised of crews of the three corporations that operate in the system (the other being Persotech). The KAC keeps a strong military presence in the system, which is bolstered by Confederation patrols out of Valgard and the occasional Border Worlds patrol out of Masa. The strong military presence and moderate commercial presence contribute to a generally low degree of piracy. The DeathHeads pirate clan is the most active of the Terran pirate clans in the system. The Demon's Eye Pack regularly operates in the area and occasional encounters with the Crimson Claw have occurred in recent months.

Silenos[]

Silenos

Silenos System

Silenos is an uninhabited star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant, It is also sometimes known by its Kilrathi name, Ko'bar Mek. The system serves as a transfer station between the Torgo, Masa, Orestes, Valgard and T'Rel Meh systems. It's noteworthy due to the presence of a system-wide nebula. Silenos was first probed by a standard Confederation deep space probe in 2613; a similar Kilrathi probe first visited the system three years later. Both reported the same thing - the area was blanketed by a nebula likely that formed as a supernova remnant, with no appreciable stars, planets or asteroids in close proximity. Further scouting missions verified these readings. The nebula saw many intense skirmishes during the war years, the ionizing cloud a perfect place for battle groups to hide and wait for enemy forces to pass or to disappear into for vital repairs along the Terran-Kilrathi border. The system was in Confederation hands at war's end and by provision of the Treaty of Torgo it became a permanent, undisputed holding of the Confederation at that time. The nebula wouldn't see major action again until the Black Lance Affair in 2673, when it was used by the crew of BWS Intrepid in an attempt to escape pursuit by TCS Lexington after her former CO and CAG defected to the Border Worlds' cause. After playing cat and mouse within the nebula, Lexington finally cornered Intrepid near the jump point to Orestes. In the ensuing action, Lexington was very nearly torpedoed by a Thunderbolt launched from Intrepid, the ordinance exploding within a hundred meters of Lexington and rendering the vessel unable to continue the pursuit. The Black Lance Affair ended about a week after this action, and nothing larger than minor pirate skirmishes have occurred in the system since then. Silenos today remains little more than a transfer station, albeit an exceedingly important one for commercial interests in the Sector. Nearly 150 cargo ships pass through the system on an average daily basis, flying the liveries of five of Epsilon's major corporations. The presence of the nebula this system prime real estate for pirates and pirate activity in the system is moderately high despite Confederation Naval patrols out of Decatur in Torgo and Valgard, as well as Border Worlds patrols out of Masa, KAC Police patrols out of Pasqual and Bifrost, and even the occasional Landreich patrol out of Orleans. The Morgans are active in the system as is the Demon's Eye Pack. Forces of the Crimson Claw may occasionally be found in Silenos, though in general the system is on the outskirts of their demesne.

T'Rel Meh[]

Trel meh

T'Rel Meh System

T'Rel Meh is a star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant. It features Ek'chakrah, a mining base. A survey of the T'Rel Meh system by a Kilrathi deep space probe in 2619 revealed the presence of a large, mineralogically rich asteroid orbiting a white dwarf star. The Kilrathi would later lay claim to the system, establishing a mining base in 2627. During the war years, the base was often raided by Confederation forces (notably, it was held by the Confederation for a time during the Epsilon Sector Campaign of 2644) and was destroyed on no less than three seperate occasions, with the Kilrathi rebuilding the base each time; the current base was built in 2663. Confederation forces last entered the system during the War in 2664, after which no Confederation raid successfully penetrated as far in as T'Rel Meh. Like most Kilrathi mining bases, demand for their ores dropped off with the end of the War. Unlike most of the others, though, T'Rel Meh was determined to be nearly depleted as it was, a fact that meant few warlords were willing to risk a confrontation over it. Control of the base was therefore able to pass directly to its local mining union without any major incidents. Still, with most of the minerals used up the base has had difficulty attracting new customers in the post-war era. Paulsen Kinetics and Persotech have established offices on the base, though both corporations have stated that they are considering pulling out unless profits can pick up soon. Another problem that has arisen recently is piracy; in particular the base is subjected to frequent assaults by the Jezebel pirate clan, which has been attempting to takeover the base for some time. So far the populace has been able to resist their takeover attempts but the raids are becoming more effective with time and it might only be a matter of time before they're successful. Meanwhile, T'Rel Meh System sees just short of fifty cargo ships on an average daily basis, primarily Paulsen and Persotech craft. Local militiamen and Confederation Naval forces stationed out of Valgard do their best to prevent piracy in the region, though neither group has proven particularly effective and in-system piracy remains high. In addition to the ongoing threat of the Jezebels, the Morgans are a particularly active group in the area.

T'kon[]

Tkon

T'kon System

T'kon is an uninhabited star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant. It mainly serves as a transfer station between the adjacent T'kon Meth and T'kon H'hra star systems and is one of the three systems of the T'Kon H'hra Corridor. T'kon was first visited by a Kilrathi deep space surveyor probe in 2613, with the probe reporting nothing of value within the system's boundaries. Later scouting missions by the Kilrathi confirmed these findings and for much of its existence the system was left undisturbed. T'Kon gained importance as a transit corridor when the T'kon H'hra Military Salvage Yard was opened in adjacent T'kon H'hra in the 2640s, and even further importance in this capacity at the end of the war, when refugees started streaming through the area on pilgrimage to the Salvage Yard, where the Qith'rak Sivari had ostensibly wound up. T'kon today remains little more than a transit corridor, though there has been some discussion in the KAC Council of late about establishing a weigh station in the region to stem the flow of refugees to the Salvage Yard due to a small but growing problem of private interests making off with some of the smaller warships mothballed there. Paulsen Kinetics routes about sixty cargo ships through the system on an average daily basis en route to the Salvage Yard, and KAC Police patrols out of Pasqual routinely monitor the system's jump points to control would-be trouble makers. Piracy in the system is generally low, though Scavages and the Morgans are notably active in the area.

T'kon H'hra[]

Tkon hhra

T'kon H'hra System

T'kon H'hra is a star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant and the end-point system of the T'kon H'hra Corridor. It features the T'kon H'hra Military Salvage Yard, known in Kilrathi as R'Lanrasiv 'T'kon H'hra. The Kilrathi first scouted the system via a deep space surveyor probe in 2613; having run out of fuel for its jump drive, the probe conducted a thorough sweep of the system and subsequently self-destructed, having ultimately found very little of value anywhere in the rimward portions of what would come to be known as the Sa'Khan Quadrant. T'kon H'hra itself proved to be utterly devoid of value, a bolt-hole system containing no planets of note nor any asteroids large enough to exploit for their mineralogical content. The system remained untouched until the early 2640s, when the Kilrathi Empire selected the system as a dumping site for outdated and surplus capital ships. Records of exactly when R'Lanrasiv 'T'kon H'hra came on-line were lost in the destruction of Kilrah and it is known that the Star Post built in 2644 top serve as the main administrative facility for the yard was not built until after a fair number of hulks had already been moved into the area. T'kon H'hra was never directly involved in the war, though the surplus usable parts and scrap durasteel produced by the facility kept many Kilrathi warships operational on the frontlines right up until the war's end. At the end of the war, the Confederation took possession over the Yard and selected it as the site to which the Kilrathi would be required to move all of their warships operating in Vega and Epsilon, except for those few vessels they would be allowed to keep to establish a standing police force. Administration of the base was eventually turned over to the Broken Claw Agency after most of the crews of the vessels that complied with the order found themselves unable or unwilling to return home. The yard ultimately became a refugee camp, with the families of those crews arriving first followed by those attempting to escape the chaos of the civil wars that were plaguing the Empire and later by those who had found themselves disenfranchised and dishonored in the new Kilrathi society. The number of refugees were controllable until one refugee arrived in 2676 claiming to bear the Qith'rak Sivari (Sivar's Blade), a holy relic on the same level of religious significance to the Kilrathi as the Shroud of Turin or the Ark of the Covenant. Nearly overnight the slowing trickle of new arrivals became a flood once again, as the yard became a place of pilgrimage. Efforts to re-locate the refugees to the reservations are ongoing, but due to a general lack of resources, the process is going much slower than what the Broken Claw would like to see. The base's administration is also facing a new problem: "pilgrims" (read: pirates) who arrive on the station and then make off with one of the Kilrathi warships in the yard, of which a few may still be found in a state of full operation. Some of the more resourceful pirates have even used the base as a recruiting ground. As of today the base's population is estimated at just under 70,000 souls, over the rated capacity of a Kilrathi Star Post by nearly a hundredfold. Paulsen Kinetics maintains an office on the base to occasionally pull weapons off the hulks or to use them as practice targets for new weapon designs. The base sees about sixty Paulsen cargo ships pass through on an average daily basis. Security is provided by KAC Police forces out of Pasqual, who routinely refuel at the salvage yard for the transit back in order to extend their effective range. Piracy is relatively low, with the Jezebels notably active within the system.

T'kon Meth[]

Tkon meth

T'kon Meth System

T'kon Meth is an uninhabited star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant, the initial star system of the T'Kon H'hra Corridor. Its main feature is a Neutron Star located in the system's center. T'kon was first visited by a Kilrathi deep space surveyor probe in 2613, which was nearly lost when it ventured a little too close to the Neutron Star's gravity well. The probe found two additional jump points in addition to the one from which it had entered the system (from Qual'lat); scouts later used those jump points to explore and survey the adjacent Pasqual and T'kon systems. T'kon Meth became a strategically vital system for the Kilrathi during the war years, as it represented the quickest route between the secure system of Qual'lat and the front lines at Pasqual. The Confederation laid claim to the system twice during the war, both times for no longer than three weeks. The system gained additional importance as a transit corridor when the T'kon H'hra Military Salvage Yard was opened in T'kon H'hra in the 2640s, with the system seeing salvaging traffic as well. At war's end, the system remained a nominal Kilrathi holding and would later be added to the demesne of the KAC. Throughout its history, there have been discussions of establishing a permanent base of some kind somewhere within the system's limits, but those discussions usually end abruptly when the issue of the Neutron Star at the system's heart is brought up. T'kon Meth retains its status as little more than a transit corridor today, seeing about seventy cargo ships from four different major corporations on an average daily basis. Security for those cargo ships is largely provided by KAC Police patrols stationed out of Pasqual, and to a lesser extent by Confederation patrols stationed out of Marcinko in Lennox. Piracy in the system is generally moderate, with the Morgans notably active in the system's boundaries. Occasional encounters with the Demon's Eye Pack have also been reported in the area.

Tas Mahran[]

Tas mahran

Tas Mahran System

Tas Mahran is a star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant. It features Mahran, a refinery base. For most of its known history, the Mahran system has played host to at least one refinery base, maxing out at three such bases during the height of the Terran-Kilrathi War. Initial surveys of the star system revealed no planets or asteroids of significance in the system; as a bolt-hole system with only one jump tunnel in or out, however, the system could be easily defended and so some development in it made good logical sense. The original refinery in the system was established in 2625, with its original purpose to support colonization and infrastructure of Kilrathi worlds in Sa'Khan Quadrant in particular. The refinery was re-tooled when the War began as a repair facility for Kilrathi capital ships; additional facilities were constructed in the area to manufacture starfighters and capital ship components close to the front lines. Like the neighboring Pasqual system, Tas Mahran became a strategic target due to its shipbuilding capabilities; Confederation raids destroyed a total of eight unique factories in the system over the course of the War. The remaining refinery, Mahran, was constructed relatively late in the war and was actively involved in the delivery of components used in the construction of Pasqual Station towards the war's end. The Confederation never took over Tas Mahran, and at war's end it remained a Kilrathi possession. The system became one of the first "official" possessions of the KAC when that body came into existence. In 2675, the local clan elders struck a deal with Bronte Corporation to allow in-Sector manufacturing of parts for freighters carrying the Bronte livery; though touted as a legitimate trade agreement, the arrangement has in effect turned Mahran into a corporate state with Bronte effectively in control. Tas Mahran today sees only about fifteen cargo ships per day, all flying the flag of Bronte Corporation. Security in the system is fairly tight owing to KAC Police patrols out of Pasqual as well as the occasional Confederation patrol out of Marcinko in Lennox and Border Worlds patrols out of Masa. Piracy in the system is moderate, with the Despoilers notably active in the system. The Demon's Eye Pack occasionally sends raiding parties into the system to intercept convoys carrying construction equipment and other spare parts.

Valgard[]

Valgard right

Valgard System

Valgard is a commonly applied code name to a star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant. It features Skafloc, a mining base, and Valgard Military Prison, which in addition to its function as a prison acts as the main Confederation military installation in the Quadrant. The system was first called "Valgard" during Operation Thor's Hammer; prior to that time, the system had only a Kilrathi designation - T'rel H'hra - which is the system's actual name. Valgard was first occupied by the Kilrathi during their initial conquest of Epsilon Sector and remained firmly in their hands throughout the Terran-Kilrathi War. In 2654, TCS Tiger's Claw pursued KIS Sivar through the system in retaliation for the destruction of the colony on Goddard II. Having earlier destroyed the original Bifrost Supply Depot, Tiger's Claw used the opportunity to engage and destroy multiple Kilrathi vessels low on fuel and supplies used in the defense of Sivar, ultimately setting the stage for the dreadnought's destruction in the adjacent Vigrid (T'rel Pakh) system. This action was the only major Confederation incursion into the system during the war. As a provision of the Treaty of Torgo (Ko'bar Yagar), the Confederation took over ownership of a number of pre-designated Kilrathi outposts in the former Empire; a detention facility in the system was among those bases claimed, which the Confederation repurposed into the Valgard Military Prison facility. A few years later, TCES operatives located a large asteroid in the system suitable for mining, and construction of Skafloc mining base began; Skafloc became operational in 2674. Despite the Confederation presence, the system is still considered Kilrathi territory; the bulk of Skafloc's workers are in fact Kilrathi who eke out a pittance in the mines to try and support their hrai. Valgard has become the de facto destination for those Kilrathi in the Terran spheres of influence who disrupt the peace and its number of Kilrathi inmates has steadily risen to over 150,000, with the prison nearing capacity. A Sivarist cult has been allowed to operate among the prison population (to the annoyance of Terran milita groups stationed there) in order to help keep the inmates in line; so far this policy has met with mixed success. The system itself sees nearly 350 cargo ships passing through on a daily basis, the highest rate of commercial traffic anywhere in the entire Sector, which lends itself to a strong overall economy. Piracy in the system is moderate even with an enhanced Confederation naval presence mainly due to the sheer amount of traffic; the Demon's Eye Pack is notably active, as are the Despoilers and DeathHeads.

Vigrid[]

Vigrid

Vigrid System

Vigrid is a star system in the Sa'Khan Quadrant; its name in Kilrathi is T'rel Pakh. It features Yi'nargrast'hra, known more colloquially as Demon's Eye, a base operated by the pirate group known as the Demon's Eye Pack. Like the neighboring Valgard system, Vigrid was first occupied by the Kilrathi during their initial conquest of Epsilon Sector and remained firmly in their hands throughout the Terran-Kilrathi War, though Confederation forces did occasionally penetrate the system in pursuit of Kilrathi raiders out of Kabla Meth. The system was first called "Vigrid" during Operation Thor's Hammer. It was in this system that TCS Tiger's Claw finally caught up with and destroyed KIS Sivar, the Kilrathi dreadnought that housed the Graviton Gun and that was responsible for the destruction of the Confederation colony of Goddard. After the subsequent execution of Crown Prince Gilkarg, the Kilrathi dispatched a salvaging operation to retreive the wreck; this was done but there wasn't much of the ship left to salvage and its signature weapon had been completely ruined. A few years later the Kilrathi attempted to establish a forward mining base to support shipbuilding efforts in the region; the asteroid on which the base was established was tapped out relatively quickly due to shoddy initial mineralogical surveys and by war's end the base had already been abandoned. In 2671, the pirate group known as Morgan's Raiders decided to set up shop in the area after one of their flights uncovered the abandoned base. Renaming the base "Oskopnir", the Morgans were able to utilize the base's central location near most of the newly established trade routes into Kilrathi territory to great effect, to the point that the base was given the nickname "Demon's Eye" by the merchantmen making their runs along those routes. The base remained in the hands of the Morgans until very recently, when the newly formed Demon's Eye Pack raided the base; what happened to the Morgans residing on the base at the time is unknown. Things are currently more than slightly chaotic at Demon's Eye at the moment owing both to the change of administration and the personal beliefs of the leader of the Demon's Eye Pack, a Kilrathi known as Kayi ("Bloodeye"). Despite the long-standing pirate presence, six corporations route ships through Vigrid on their way to Kabla Meth and points in Deneb and Antares Quadrant, with the system seeing over 120 cargo vessels on an average daily basis. This provides a wide selection of potential targets for the Demon's Eye Pack, who (rather obviously) have a substantial presence in the system. Several naval groups send military patrols to Vigrid in attempts to quell the piracy, including the Confederation, Border Worlds and Landreich navies as well as the KAC Police out of Kabla Meth; to date, their efforts have met with a mixed degree of success, and it is widely believed that it will take a more concentrated military action to finally put the pirates in the area permanently out of business.
