Greetings, Wingnuts and Citizens! Time for the Weekly WCRPG Update.

I don't have a great deal to report to y'all this week. I spent most of my time working on a history for the character of Najekh, the last of the Demon's Eye quick-start player characters that will be in the Elegy campaign. He's been giving me headaches for a while now, largely dealing with issues of "okay, so he did that - and why didn't they just kill him then and there". The character has been doing some pretty unsavory things prior to the start of his dealings with Bloodeye's group - including a fairly horrific crime - so those issues have cropped up a lot. The big one I haven't answered yet is "why was his family so crappy to him". I'd had a thought that maybe it was that he was adopted, or was illegitimate or something. It's also possible his family was just a bunch of terrible people; that sort of thing does happen in real life. In any case, at this point I've got his childhood events completed and I've started in on his activities during the Terran-Kilrathi War. I do know that he'll ultimately wind up with the Crimson Claw pirate clan and I have a pretty good story for his change of allegiance to the Demon's Eye Pack, and I think I can work it in to the animosity that will ultimately develop between the two groups. I also got some work done on Bloodeye's profile this week, completing his childhood events and getting into his activities during the War. Of course, I had a better idea of what direction I wanted to go with him; it kind of annoys me that it took the week to get Najekh to where he is and that it took me half an hour to get Bloodeye to roughly the same level of progress...

The Plan for this week is to continue building profiles for Najekh and Bloodeye. I'm done with my overnight shifts at this point and I have every intention of taking the weeks of Christmas and New Years off, so my window of opportunity for getting work done this year is rapidly drawing to a close. I'm hoping to get as much done as I possibly can. I still have those two characters to finish up and they are the only major characters that still require work right now; their completion would allow me to move on to other things. There's still a long way to go before Elegy is even close to being done. I'm still hopeful I can get into the meat and potatoes of the work soon, though it doesn't look like I'll be starting in on the plot by Christmas like I'd originally hoped.

That's it for this week; next update between 11-14Z on December 22nd.
